Churt WI

So glad you have found your way to our web page!

Churt WI was founded in July 1919 and is still going strong so we must be doing something right.

Both in our village of Churt and widely across the UK, the WI offers women of all ages and backgrounds a chance to come together through shared experiences, friendship and learning. We also look to influence local, national, and international affairs.

We are a socially active and fun-loving WI group, where members can relax and listen to a visiting speaker, learn or refresh a crafting skill and bake to their heart’s content. There are many opportunities to get involved in village life, plus refreshments are served, enabling everyone to chat and get to know one another.

We meet regularly on the second Tuesday of each month at 2.30pm in the Churt Village Hall – apart from August. Visitors are more than welcome to listen to the speaker.

In addition to the monthly meetings, several trips are organised during the year. These include half-day and full day excursions. We have an active monthly book club, and we also hold social “meet up afternoons” in the Churt cricket pavilion.

If you have recently moved to Churt or one of the neighbouring villages and would be interested in finding out more about the activities in which our WI partakes, OR, if you would like to join us one afternoon for our social meet up in the cricket pavilion, we would love to see you.
